
David Otto is a figurative artist, working in oil and acrylic paint on canvas. Described as surreal allegories, Dave’s body of work explores the ethical implications that arise from the interplay of internal and external forces of good and evil. He received his BFA degree in Illustration from California College of the Arts (CCA) in 2002, graduating with the honor of high distinction.
Dave’s work has been exhibited in group shows in San Francisco, CA, Rock Island, IL, and Davenport, IA. In 2014, he opened his first solo show at Atom Studio + Gallery in Davenport, IA. In 2020, he was selected to participate in the Rock Island Art Guild’s 41st annual Arts Exhibition, shown at the FIGGE Art Museum in Davenport, IA.
Dave is a Midwestern native of the IA/IL Quad Cities region and has lived and worked widely in various urban centers, including Los Angeles, San Francisco, NYC, Seattle, Chicago, and the Kansai region of Osaka/Kobe, Japan. He currently lives with his wife in San Francisco, CA.
